Midnatssol is a super soft, light, airy and full-bodied yarn with 25 g per ball and 200 m. Midnatssol is produced especially for CaMaRose at a family-owned Italian spinning mill with regard to the environment and animal welfare, so the merino wool used is mulesing free. Midnatssol consists of an exclusive blend of 54% Baby Alpaca, 10% Merino wool (mulesing free), and 36% Tencel. Tencel is the fine thread that holds the fibers together in Midnatssol.

Midnatssol is perfect as a companion thread with other CaMaRose yarns such as Yaku, Okologisk Sommeruld, Lamauld and Pima Bomuld. It is suitable for sweaters, cardigans, shawls, hats, baby and children's knitwear in one thread but also with several threads for chunky sweaters and cardigans. The color range in Midnatssol is carefully selected to match CaMaRose's other yarns. Especially as a companion thread to other qualities and by combining Midnatssol with 2-3 strands in either one color or 3 different colors, you can create completely unique fabric.

The recommended needle size in 1 thread is 3.0 - 4.0 mm. In several threads you can get up to 6.0 mm.
Indicative knitting tension: 1 thread on needle size 3 mm, 19-22 sts = 10 cm.
Alternative knitting gauges:

  • 2 threads Midnatssol on 4mm needle: 17-18 sts = 10 cm.
  • 3 strands Midnatssol on 5mm needles: 14-15 m = 10 cm.

It is recommended to handwash the finished work, with wool detergent and leave it to dry flat.

A quick note on tencel:

Tencel, also known as Lyocell, is a cellulose-based fiber extracted from the cellulose of Eucalyptus. It is processed with a closed-circuit system recognised by the European Union as safe and eco-sustainable. This fiber is resistant, soft, silky and provides functionality that cannot be found in other cellulose fibers. Lyocell can be recycled and will also happily and quickly biodegrade given the right conditions - just like the wood it is made from.
