Textures Cowl

I love the simplicity of this stitch pattern. When combining yarns with the silk mohair it creates a beautiful light texture and a halo of softness. 

 

 

 

What you need:

 

1 x 50g  Shibui Knits Staccato

1 x 25g Isager Silk Mohair or Shibui Silk Cloud

5.5mm needles

Tapestry needle

 

Gauge: 20 st x 21 rows on 5.5mm needles to 10cm / 4"

 

Finished dimensions: 8.5" x 22"

 

Pattern:

 

Cast on 48 stitches

 

Row 1 (WS): Purl

Row 2 (RS): Knit 1, *sl 1 wyif, knit 1 - repeat from *to last stitch, k1

Row 3: Purl

Row 4: Knit 2 *sl 1 wyif, knit 1  repeat from * to end of row.

Repeat these four rows until piece measures 22" from cast on, finishing with either row 2 or 4.

 

Cast off purlwise.

 

Finishing:

Stitch the cast on and cast off edges together using a flat seam. Weave in ends and block. 

 

Abbreviations:

sl 1 - slip 1

wyif - with yarn in front

ws - wrong side

rs - right side
