Novice Cardigan Mini

Novice Cardigan Junior
We have just finished knitting the Novice Cardigan Mini, using CaMaRose Midnatssol! This cardigan has come up so lovely and soft, making it the perfect warm cardigan for winter!

The Novice Cardigan is designed by Petiteknit, and with very clear instructions and simple techniques, it is suitable for beginner knitters wanting to branch out into 'top down' knitting. Techniques involved are cast on/off, knit, purl, increase and decrease, picking up stitches and knitting in the round ( for the sleeves).

Novice Cardigan Junior CaMaRose Midnatssol

We knit the Novice Cardigan in size 6-9 months, using two strands of CaMaRose Midnatssol. You could also use CaMaRose Manestrale,  Isager Silk Mohair, or Lichen and Lace Marsh Mohair.

The 6-9 month size only took 3 balls of Misnatssol, knit on a 4mm needle. Midnatssol is a blend of alpaca, merino and tencel. It is so lovely and soft while still being very lightweight, making it perfect for baby knits. The tencel in the yarn makes it very strong and durable, where the blend of alpaca and merino add softness, warmth and a little bit of fuzz.

We’re so happy with how this pattern and yarn combination turned out, I'm tempted to make the adult size version for myself!

The Novice Cardigan Mini pattern is available online through PetiteKnit, Ravelry, or in store using Ravelry’s in store pattern sales.
